meet erin + her family
“When I was 7, I used to ask my mom for her fabric scraps and would dress my Barbie dolls with them. I liked designing different outfits each day and using them instead of store bought outfits. That love of putting different pieces together has come and gone, but has been rekindled through putting outfits together with small shop items.” -Erin V.
Back in April I sat down at a coffee shop in good ole Titusville, Florida and messaged Erin on Instagram to see if she wanted to get together and meet in real life. She came a little bit later and the next hour or so I had the opportunity to hear her story over a cup of coffee.
Erin has two little babes: Reef and Marina. I had the honor of meeting little Reef over coffee and he is adorable. While she may have two little babes - she is nothing short of an adventurist spirit. Erin and her family have moved all over the world and her wedding was even in Hawaii. Here is her story…
What do you and your husband do for a living?
I manage operations for e-commerce businesses - the owner buys and sells different businesses. Currently we are focused on credit card processing for large businesses and optimization for business owners and executives. We have done business to business hand dyed and hair ties and pearl jewelry in the past.
My husband is an electrician in Florida and loves it. His job has allowed us to move all over the country and I am thankful for that.
Where have you lived over the past few years?
Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Alaska, and Park City, Utah. We currently dwell in Titusville, Florida in a little house we bought a few years ago.
What are some of your favorite hobbies when you aren't taking care of your kiddos?
I love stand-up paddling, thrifting, and I absolutely love to cook! I also enjoy collecting shells on beach walks, shopping for unique finds for my home and organizing my closet.
Lastly, what is your favorite thing about handmade items and what keeps you coming back?
I love the people. Working from home for small businesses, I don’t get a lot of human interaction but I love getting to know and supporting makers. So much talent! I also love the quality and uniqueness of items. Finding the right outfit and picking things that mix and match and work well for our lifestyle.
When I was 7, I used to ask my mom for her fabric scraps and used those to dress my Barbie dolls. I liked designing different outfits each day and used them instead of store bought. That love of putting different things has come and gone, but I love putting together outfits with small shop items. The idea of coordinating instead of matching. The combinations are almost endless instead when you choose a palette or style.
I’ve always preferred handmade jewelry for myself and when I had kids and found out about the small shop handmade clothing world, it was love at first sight! You were the first shop I purchased from. I love a relaxed, but cute beach vibe.
